VI Fira de les il·lusions del cervell

The brain is the most complex organ. We depend on it for the functioning of our body and the way in which we understand and perceive the world. To understand it better the 6th Fira de les Il•lusions del Cervell (Brain Illusions Fair) provides a broad repertoire of educational activities aimed at primary and secondary schools and the public in general. The fair will take place on Friday 8 May at the central Fabra i Coats pavilion (C/. Sant Adrià, 20).

Plaça Ferrer i Cajigal Closed due to Temporary Installation of Mercat del Ninot

Plaça Ferrer i Cagigal, on es trasllada el Mercat del Ninot

The works to refurbish the Mercat del Ninot will begin on 22 April. Plaça Ferrer i Cajigal will be closed in order to accommodate the marquees that will soon be temporarily housing the Mercat del Ninot for at least two years.

During the period of construction of the provisional market, pedestrian access to the UB Faculty of Medicine and to Hospital Clínic will be via Casanova/Còrsega and Casanova/Provença.

Cell therapy debated in Zaragoza

For 2 days, the capital city of Aragon hosted the 6th National Meeting of Transplant Coordinators and Communication Professionals – a meeting in which 84 journalists and transplant coordinators from all over the country debated on transplants and new cellular therapies. The objective of this annual meeting, organized by the National Association of Health Care Reporters, National Transplant Organization (ONT) and the Government of Aragon, is to exchange knowledge and experience between both groups in order to transmit to society the advances in transplants with the greatest possible scientific rigor.

On 16 April, the Sala Farreras Valentí of Hospital Clínic, Barcelona was the venue for the presentation of the book “El negoci sanitari. Vint anys de gestió que van canviar l’Hospital Clínic (1983-2003)” by Joan Grau, the manager of the Clínic during this period. He led the team that carried out the physical and organizational transformation of the hospital to make it one of the best in Spain and a reference standard in European health care.

Siemens and Hospital Clínic, Barcelona Strengthen Commitment to Innovative Diagnostic Systems

Peter Löscher, CEO de Siemens, ha visitado el Hospital Clínic de Barcelona para estrechar los lazos de cooperación entre las dos instituciones

The joint effort of the two institutions has led to some highly notable results over the past decade. Peter Löscher, the chief executive of the German brand at world level, visited the facilities of the Catalan center, which uses advanced technology developed by Siemens, one of the biggest providers in the health care industry. These include the CORE laboratory and all the diagnostic imaging technology, the basis of the Stroke Functional Unit, which has been in operation for six months.
